Hosting and operation
This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH in Germany. Delivering and securing the site requires technical connection data, including IP addresses, request times, requested files, browser details and error information. Processing is based on our legitimate interest in a reliable, secure service under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Technical logs are retained only for their operational and security purpose.
Contact and project enquiries
We use your name, email address and project information to respond to your enquiry. This may include formats, timing and budget. Required fields help us assess the project; additional details are optional. Processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for steps towards a contract or contractual communication, and otherwise Article 6(1)(f) for responding to your request.
Messages are delivered to patrick.schuerfeld@gmail.com and are therefore also processed by Google as the email provider, potentially outside the EU. Please do not send particularly sensitive information through the form. Enquiries are not stored as form entries in WordPress. Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle the request or fulfil statutory retention duties.
Preventing abuse
Limit Login Attempts Reloaded protects the administration login and may process IP addresses, timestamps and failed login attempts. The contact form uses a hidden check field and a temporary sending limit. A keyed identifier derived from the IP address is retained for up to 15 minutes. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in security under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Vimeo and other media
The Vimeo player is contacted only after you choose “Load film from Vimeo”. Until then, the preview image is served locally. Loading the player gives consent to the connection with Vimeo.com, Inc., which may receive your IP address, device information and the page you visited and may process data in the USA. The basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where applicable, section 25(1) TDDDG. We enable the player’s do-not-track option, which does not prevent all processing. Your choice is not stored permanently. Reloading or leaving the page ends the embedded connection.
Other images and self-hosted videos load directly from this website. External text links connect to their destination only when selected.
Cookies and fonts
The public portfolio does not use marketing or analytics cookies. WordPress uses necessary authentication and session cookies for signed-in administrators. Fonts are not requested from Google Fonts. Necessary storage is based on section 25(2) TDDDG and secure operation on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability. You may withdraw consent for future processing and object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your circumstances.
